School leadership is a great opportunity, whether you are a House Captain, School Captain, JSC rep or a Green team member. It is important to know that everyone in Grade 6 is a leader of our school.
School leadership is a great oportunity for everyone to move out of their comfort zone! To speak at assembly is a awesome achievement.
Grade six is the biggest year in terms of leadership, because we are the oldest in the school and that means that everyone looks up to us. If you are not House Captian that doesn't mean you can be silly becasue the preps, 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s and 5s look up to you. It's our time to step up and be responsible all of the time. So don't let down.
Even though being someone like a House Captain or School Captain looks like a really cool job, there is a lot of responsibility behind it (trust me!). As a House Captain or School Captain, you need to have lots of responsibility; locking the bike shed, helping out in the hall and setting up assembly. These are just a few jobs that you might get. Even though that could seem bad, you get a lot of respect from the younger grades and even your peers. I remember once when I was walking around with my Roberts House Captain badge on at lunch time, a person in grade one came up to me and said: "Yeah! Go Roberts!" and that comment made me feel really proud about my job, and what I do.
